Kate is a member of the IBM Information Agenda team and is the Industry Consultant focussed upon Information Management within the Australian Federal Government. A key part of Kate’s role is to bring long term, practical experience and knowledge of managing the Information Management function to IBM customers within Government.
Prior to joining IBM, Kate was for many years a Senior Executive within the Federal Government specialising in providing Information Management services including both technology and information to her internal customer base. This included setting the Information Management Strategy and developing the relevant Frameworks, Policies and Guidelines.
Kate has also lectured at both University of Canberra and Canberra Institute of Technology in Information and Knowledge Management, including documents and workflow management. She has completed a Masters of Business Informatics.
She was the co-founder of act-KM the largest active on-line world wide knowledge management community of practice, and is active with IKM Singapore as a moderator of their awards program. She is currently setting up an Information Governance Community of Practice as part of the Institute of Information Management. She is a mentor in Government mentor program for women in ICT, as well as a mentor through IBM’s mentoring program. She is also currently a mentor with the Smith Family in their iTrack students mentor program.
