Kayelle Wiltshire joined the Australian Public Service in 1999 for a career change after 10 years in the private sector and family responsibilities.
In 2007, Kayelle was promoted to the Assistant Secretary, Central Facilities Branch. Her Branch’s responsibilities have included whole of government matters such as australia.gov.au and web policy, cyber-security, data centre strategy, coordinated procurement, and service delivery including, Fedlink and Electorate Office IT.
Kayelle joined the Department of Finance and Deregulation in 2003. Initially, in Budget Group where she was responsible for health expenditure that included public hospitals, Indigenous Australians, Public Health areas such as Bird Flu vaccinations and financial reporting for $30 billion. Later Kayelle coordinated the Budget Papers, including a Final Budget Outcome and a Pre-Election Fiscal Outlook centrally within Finance. Prior to joining Finance, Kayelle worked across a large number of policy areas within the Department of Health and Ageing.
In 2005 Kayelle varied her Public Service experience in Superannuation. This work involved compliance activities, introducing Legislation and large government Tenders. Kayelle transferred to the Australian Government Information Management Office in January 2006.
She is a graduate of the Monash and Central Queensland Universities. Kayelle holds a degree in Nursing, a Graduate Diploma of Health Management and Information Technology, and a Master of Health Informatics. Kayelle is currently a Board member of Women in Information and Communication (WIC) and Deputy Chair, of the Chartered Institute and Supply Association (CIPSA) ACT Branch.
