Natasha Weatherburn has worked in several industries including Tertiary Education, Recruitment and Health, not to mention 10 years in the APS. Working at the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, Natasha was involved heavily in the business side of operations but felt a natural affinity for all things IT and was the 'go to' person for any questions about IT within the section. An opportunity came up in 2004 to join the ICT area and Natasha finally found her 'home'. Natasha developed a wealth of experience in IT operations in small agencies, specifically in procurement, contract negotiation, and contract management. Moving to the Department of Immigration and Citizenship in 2006, Natasha worked as Service Level Manager for the 3 major ICT contracts, finally learning the difference between mainframes and midrange. Shortly after, Natasha found herself at Department of Veterans' Affairs, in the ICT group, again working with contracts and procurement, before spending two years working on the Shared Services initiative in conjunction with Department of Human Services. Recently Natasha has moved out of ICT to broaden her career horizons and is now in the Graduate Coordinator role which places significant importance on supporting graduates, cadets and school based apprentices. In this role, Natasha hopes to encourage more women to apply for ICT Graduate roles.
