WIC Events

WIC is known for the diversity and quality of our events.

In order to meet the aims of our association, WIC holds numerous events each year. They range from informational to purely networking events but are all categorised by being affordable and fun.

2007 - 2008 HOT Breakfast Series - The Impact of Technology

WIC's exceptionally popular annual HOT Breakfast will be back again this time looking at the impact of technology on all sorts of aspects of daily life, work and the environment..

For those of you not familiar with the HOT Breakfast Series, the aim is to enable you to:

As well as hearing about some of the diverse nature of the ICT industry, the WIC HOT Breakfast Series provides an excellent opportunity to network and is a great event to bring colleagues and clients to. Like all WIC events, men are most welcome. Each breakfast also sees the announcement of the WICked Woman of the Month so don't be shy, nominate yourself or a colleague. WICked Woman Award

The 2007 - 2008 HOT Breakfast Dates

This year's HOT Breakfast dates and speakers are:

September 13 - Anne Trimmer CEO of the Medical Industry Association of Australia, speaking on "The Impact of Technology on Health"

October 11 - Donna Maurer, a freelance information architect and interaction designer, a mentor, writer and trainer, speaking on "The Impact of Technology on Ethics and Information Architecture"

November 8 - Maria Murphy, from SMS Management and Technology, speaking on "The Impact of Technology on Social Networking."

December 6 - Dominique Layton head of Y&R Interactive, speaking on "The Impact Of Technology on the Marketing Communication Industry".

February 7 - Dr Tim Wark from the CSIRO, speaking on "The Impact of Technology on Agriculture and the CSIRO Smart Farm Project"

March 13 - Tonie Differding from the Australian Customs Service, speaking on "The Impact of Technology on Boarder Security"

April 10 - Lynette Johns-Boast WICked Woman of the Year 2007 from the ANU

The breakfasts are held in The Hall, University House, 1 Balmain Cresent, Australian National University.

They are at 7.15am for a 7.30am start and wrap up by 8.30am.

We are once again be offering both single breakfast and season tickets. For those registering for the entire season we are also providing the opportunity to take out membership at a reduced rate. For more information, download the registration form.
